Why is nutrition important?
A healthy, well-balanced diet is important in reducing the risk of health issues associated with over-nutrition, malnutrition and dehydration. However, the NHS estimates that obesity affects around 1 in 4 adults in the UK. They suggest obesity can lead to serious and potentially life-threatening health conditions such as, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, certain cancers and stroke.
